15 weeks

Here are Jaxon's 15 week photos. He was so cute this morning taking them. He is starting to laugh when I make faces at him, which is awesome. All his prior photos where I caught him smiling have been a complete fluke. I love all of these. The one where he is being so serious impersonating the monkey, sucking his thumb--and then licking his shirt, then he knocked over the monkey and cracked himself up. This kid really is the best!

This past week has been a trying one in our household. Josh got sick last Thursday (and is still fighting his cold/sore throat) and passed it to Jaxon sometime Saturday because he woke up on Sunday in bad shape. His voice is hoarse and his poor little nose is runny and stuffy--if you can imagine that. He is having a hard time eating because his nose is stuffed up so he can't breathe when he is attempting to eat. And then he is uncomfortable because he hasn't eaten enough. Also, I am still working on transitioning him from his afternoon swing nap to a crib nap. We were making progress last week, or at least I felt that way, but this week has been rough. He is fighting the sleep because he is sick, but he needs the sleep so he is one exhausted boy most days. He is, however, still sleeping like a champ overnight, so we are grateful for that. (I too have caught this cold/sore throat but not as bad as the boys).

Otherwise, it has been a nice week. Josh and I celebrated our 6th anniversary this past weekend :) My parents came out on Saturday and spent the day with Jaxon so we could go out. It ended up being beautiful out so we hung out in Phoenixville and walked all over town.

Jaxon continues to talk up a storm, which I LOVE!! He is so cute talking to me all day. He has also figured his feet out. He can reach and hold them and has even figured out that they too, along with his hands, will fit into his mouth.

He had his first bath with me in a month where he didn't scream yesterday. I sat in the tub with him which seems to be the trick. He still seemed scared the whole time but at least the screaming and crying didn't occur.

14 Weeks

Well, another week has gone by and Jaxon is still as cute as ever! Daddy was gone Thursday through Sunday night so it was a Mommy and Me weekend. We played with a lot of new toys (new to Jaxon), he helped out with chores, and we took a trip down to DE to visit with his cousin Ryann and great Aunt Weez (photos in the previous post).

I am in the midst of transitioning Jaxon from taking his afternoon nap in his swing--which he loves, to his crib. He is not happy about it, but has managed to sleep an hour the past 2 days. He normally is down for 2-3 in the afternoon so this cry and fight and sleep for 1 hour is stressful, and exhausting for me. But I will win this battle. You can pray for patience and good sleep for me, and I guess good sleep for Jaxon too!

He is talking up a storm, always telling us about his dreams first thing in the morning and telling daddy all about our day when he gets home from work. He is getting better at holding his rings and rattles. He is also getting better with his aim when he is trying to chew on something. Most of the time it goes right into his mouth instead of hitting his cheeks or nose before making its way into his mouth.

He was in a friend's jumper last week and he loved it so we bought him an activity center that has a little bubble on the bottom that he can bounce on. He is working on figuring out what that frog and butterfly want from him. So cute.

Another friend is letting us borrow her bumbo chair, so Jaxon is figuring that out too. Poor guy, he is so chubby I had to stuff him in it, but he seems to like being able to sit up "on his own".

He is a doll and I could not imagine my life without him. Even now when we are "fighting" every day.

Jaxon meets his cousin Ryann

Saturday Jaxon met his cousin Ryann. Her mom, Yvonne and I are cousins and born 3 months apart, and Jaxon and Ryann are 3 months apart too! We met at Great Aunt Weez's house for the afternoon. JAxon had ona brand new outfit with matching socks that actually fit his feet--he is in size 12-24 months now. He wore it up until it was time for his photo shoot with Ryann and then pooped himself right out of it, so he was in the spare outfit I keep in his bag that was a 3 month outfit, poor kid is in 6 months, so I had to squeeze him into clean clothes; and then the socks didn't match so well....
They were so cute together playing footsie and holding hands. Although every baby/kid who meets Jaxon seems to want to beat him up....soon my son you will be in command of your hands and feet and able to defend yourself. The photos are priceless though of every friend grabbing his face and him crying. They always end up holding hands though! I also love that every kid who meet Jax is fascinated by his huge belly and wants to rub it!

Christopher's Fiesta

Our dear friend has finished his first year of law school! 1 year down, 3 to go. We had a little get together on Wednesday to celebrate. His son Flynn was our dapper bartender/barber for the evening with his fiesta attire, mustache and bow tie! The mustaches made another appearance, and as you can see the kids were thrilled. Jaxon was passed around and loved every minute of it, even falling asleep with Jen. Jaxon not only fit into the jumper but loved every second we had him in there. Guess that will be our next purchase.....

Fun with Flynn

Here is Jaxon with his buddy Flynn. I apologize for the photos you are about to see.....Jax was only crying because Flynn was beating him up. At the rate Jaxon is growing, it won't be long before those tables are turned. Then Aunt Teresa brought over mustaches for the kids. I like the one where Jax is rubbing his belly. Also the one of Flynn rubbing Jax's belly in awe!
