Thanksgiving 2011

Jaxon's first Thanksgiving was a great one! Josh and I cooked the meal at my parents house and Jaxon got tons of play time with his Aunt Lindsey, Uncle Scott, Pop pop and Nonna. He loves the fireplace and just like Mia, tried to get as close as possible. He loved all the Thanksgiving food and made short work of it all! He even took the obligatory after-meal-nap so we got to have dessert and watch football "in peace".

We were on our way home when Josh decided he wanted to go to Target for the midnight opening for Black Friday deals, so we dropped him off on our way home. He was able to snag a tv that is way too big for our room, but is at least better than what we had, which was a computer monitor.

Overall, we had a great day and have been enjoying the long weekend with Daddy home!

How could my Thankful Thursday post on Thanksgiving be about anything other than the beautiful new life that Josh and I have been blessed with? Jaxon is such a precious little boy and we are so truly thankful that God gave him to us. The fact that we have another on the way just fills us with joy that is indescribable! God is so good!!

Jax's 9 month stats

I know we are a little late, but Jaxon just had his 9 month appointment today and he is still doing great and growing taller by the minute! Looks like there is FINALLY something I have given him shinning through :) His height is off the charts, and his head is in the 95%, while his weight has dropped to the 90%. He got the go ahead from the doctor to move to all table food (which we had started already) and also to go to whole milk at 11 months. Which will be nice on our pockets for the 1 month or so that we aren't buying formula.

He has gotten a lot more mobile over the last few weeks, crawling everywhere and getting into everything! He is pulling himself up in his crib, but won't do it anywhere else. He remains a super happy, calm, sweet little boy. He has moved into his new room since our last update. His rockstar room is coming together. I have some spice racks I am painting and using as book shelves and a hat rack I painted as well that needs to be hung up and then everything will be able to be put away. It is nice to be organized and have this transition started before I am too big to want to do the work.

I also moved all the newborn clothes into the dresser in the nursery, got out the boppy and the pump, newborn bottles...all that. It is all so surreal that it is happening again! I had my glucose test this past week, and again I am in the clear! SO thankful for that news. The thought of having to prick my fingers all day is more than I can handle right now. This is a current pic of my belly. Grayson at 29 weeks :)

Jaxon has been sick for almost a week. He has had a cold and a bowel issue that have had him sleeping erratically and fussier than usual. It seems that this morning he woke up without his ailments and for that I am extremely thankful. I was worried this would carry over into the holidays, but it looks like he will be his happy little self. God is good!

Thankful Thursday

I am SUPER thankful for Craigslist. I have been able to sell several "big ticket" items out of our garage/storage room, as well as a bunch of smaller items. This has given me some money to get Christmas presents for my boys and I am really excited about that! Now just need a tree.....God is good!!

9 months

Jaxon is 9 months old today! He is growing so fast and is looking more and more like a little boy and less like my baby :( He is done with his bayb purees and onto table food. He has been asserting his independence lately and doesn't want to eat any food in his high chair, but if I sit down with a bowl of anything he will sit at my feet and let me feed him from my bowl. So the struggle begins.....but I think we all know I am more stubborn than most, so I will win this battle, eventually. We are also working to wean him down on the amount of formula he is taking in. Doc says mo more than 30oz in a day, but it would be ideal to keep him at 3 bottles (24oz). So that has been tough, especially since he doesn't want to eat his real food, but we are getting there. He is doing the army crawl all over the house and still LOVES his walker, although he is too big for it and basically just drags his feet around all day. His top two teeth have come in and he just broke another through this morning on the bottom. He has been such a champ about teething, no fits, not too many sleepless nights, just Jaxon being his joyful self.

Grayson is doing great. He is kicking/punching all the time. My belly has really popped out, which is annoying. It is hard to get Jaxon in and out of his crib and once he moves into his big boy room, where his mattress is on the lowest setting, it is going to be nearly impossible. Sitting and playing with him gives me cramps from being folded in half. But he is a joy, still the happiest baby on the block!!

Jax's Playdate with his Cuz Ryann

We finally were able to have another playdate with our cousins Vonnie and Ryann this past weekend! Jaxon was super excited to see her and wore his favorite button down and a grown up sweater. He looked like such a little man I could barely stand it. Thankfully, Von brought a whole tote full of toys, and Ryann was kind enough to share with Jaxon, he really liked this one doll. Too cute. Aunt Louise got his a little monkey pillow that he loves and immediately christened with a bite/kiss and slobber. He also got a chance to play the drums on a candy tin that Aunt Louise had out--which he loved. We tried to do some cousin photos at the end of the day, which was a huge mistake. Jaxon was so over it! He was 3 hours past his nap time and was not into it at all. Ryann however, was the star of the show, she is such a doll. The two of them were so cute together, playing as if they had weekly playdates. Love these two!!!
